| What is Trelowarren Christian Centre?
Trelowarren is an historical Cornish Manor House and 1,000 acre Estate leading down to the Helford river. The chapel and the part of house shown in this photo is currently held 'in trust' by a registered charity. The remainder of the house is private, and owned by the Vyvyan family who have lived here since the early 1400s.
Trelowarren is probably one of Corwall's most historic estates. It is being carefully restored to balance conservation, private ownership and living history.
This is a traditional working estate, run by the same family for 600 years.
It is situated at the centre of The Lizard, a nature reserve and area of outstanding natual beauty, with unique geology and wildlife within easy reach. On the most southerly point of mainland Britain, our climate is warm & Spring comes early and summer stays late. The peninsula’s western edge, from Porthleven to Lizard Point is Heritage Coast with spectacular coastal walks taking you all the way from Porthleven to the Helford River, passing both remote and popular beaches. There are many attractions and places of interest to visit e.g: Trebah Gardens, Glendurgan, National Maritime Museum Falmouth, Pendennis Castle, Marazion, St Michael’s Mount to name just a few. There’s easy access to good local golf courses too!
